Google will no longer support expanded text ads from 30 June 2022

What’s changing?

Do you use google Ads? From 30 June 2022, you will no longer be able to create or edit expanded text ads in Google Ads. Your expanded text ads continue to work alongside responsive search ads, as will their performance reports. You’ll also be able to pause and resume your expanded text ads or delete them.

What should I do?

We recommend that you have at least one responsive search ad in every ad group in your Search campaigns by 30 June 2022.

Here’s a few resources and tips to get you started:

  • Repurpose your most successful headlines and descriptions from your expanded text ads and focus on reaching ‘Good’ or ‘Excellent’ Ad strength.  them.
  • Review your account’s Recommendations page, which can help you the quality of your responsive search ads.
  • Pin headlines or descriptions to specific positions in your responsive search ads. This is useful if you have certain messages that always need to be shown.
  • Test different ad variations. to see which copy performs best.
